Sony has finally declared the list of devices which are going to get Android upgrade but there is a catch, Android 4.4 upgrade is not happening right away. Most of Sony’s gadget will get Android 4.3 update next month and eventually get 4.4.
A lot of devices from Sony have Android Jelly Bean 4.1 or 4.2 so rather than jumping to Android 4.4 Sony will be updating them to Android Jelly Bean 4.3 first. However, we believe it won’t be long before top range of Sony gadgets will get Android 4.4 KitKat.
The list of devices that make the cut for Android 4.4 KitKat updates include most flagship models of the Japanese giant. Sony Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR, Xperia SP, Xperia Z ultra, Xperia Z1 and Sony tablet Z will get Android 4.3 next month. While other devices like Xperia T, V and TX are getting a jump from Android Jelly Bean 4.1 to 4.3.
The most obvious question would be, why can’t Sony Xperia users get updated Android 4.4 KitKat first hand? Perhaps, the company needs some more time to test its devices before it implicate changes. Although, Google is really keen to see its revolutionary operating system Android 4.4 adopted by maximum Android makers but so far only HTC has announced 4.4 update.
HTC’s top notch model HTC One is going to get Android 4.4 update by January next year in most countries. According to rumors LG is also gearing up to announce Android 4.4 KitKat for its flagship model LG G2.
The new Android operating system is designed for low RAM devices and is loaded with tons of cool features. No touch voice response, improved caller ID, fitness tracker, updated user interference, default quick office and free SMS and MMS in Google hangout. Currently this latest operating system is only available for Google’s new smartphone Nexus 5 which is expected to be announced in India real soon.
