Google told us that new Android L is going to be a game changer but we barely got a sneak peak of the upcoming Android OS at Google I/O in June 2014. However, Google has not revealed much of Android L features after the event Android Police spotted a new function of the next Google operating system that may enable users to create guest login in upcoming Android version.
Google accidently released details about this feature in an Android Issue Tracker group which is a platform for Android developers to raise and discuss issues. While responding to a developers question regarding lack of multiple users feature in Android Smartphone Google has hinted that Android L will allow users to secure their private data.
A Google personal responded to the developers concern by stating “The development team has implemented this feature and it will be available as part of the next public build.”
If we go by the response by Android Team member it seems that Android L will allow users to lock certain private apps like messaging, and photo book when they share their smartphone with others.
However, most Android tablets come with multiple login feature which is introduced by individual makers like Samsung and Amazon but the same feature is a rare sight in smartphones. LG is one exception that has successfully introduced a guest login sort of feature in its last two flagship models but other high end Android still don’t deal this privacy issue promptly.
At this point it’s hard to say how well Google will be able to address this privacy issue but we have got our hopes high.
