Apple has launched its new Macbook Air series that features faster Intel processors, latest OS X Mavericks and come about $100 cheaper than previous models.
Both 11 inch and 13 inch new Macbook Air models are loaded with faster 1.4 GHz dual core Intel core i5 processor which is configurable to 1.7 GHz dual core Intel i7 processor. The new lineup feature 4 GB of 1600 MHz on board memory which is configurable to 8 GB.
The new lineup is powered by latest OS X Mavericks and the combination of faster Intel processor and new operating system helps to save battery life in both devices. The 11 inch Macbook Air promises up to 9 hours of wireless web usage while the 13 inch model gives up to 12 hours of web usage.
The 11 inch models sport 1366X786 display screen while the 13 inch model has 1440X900 display. As far as connectivity ports are concerned both models feature 1 thunderbolt port, 2 USB port and 1 memory card slot same as their previous counterparts.
Apart from faster processor and reduced price tag the basic features of new Macbook Air remains the same as its predecessor. The Refreshed Macbook Air models have 720p HD Facetime camera, Bluetooth 4.0 wireless technology and 802.11 ac Wi-Fi networking.
Both new Macbook Air are loaded with built in apps like iPhoto, iMovie, iTunes, Maps, iBooks, Safari, Facetime, Time Machine,Mac App Store etc.
The 11 inch Macbook Air model is priced at $899 while the 13 inch model costs $999. The basic 11 inch and 13 inch models come with 128 GB memory but extra $200 can buy you same Macbook with 256 GB memory. The new Macbook models are now available or purchase at Apple ‘s online store as well as retail stores.
