Would you believe if we had told you that you can own an Apple iPhone for Rs 15,000? Well it seems Apple is all set to fulfill the mid range model dream of many Indian fans by pitching in its old iPhone 4 in Indian market.
According to Economics Times Apple is planning to re launch iPhone 4 at a mid range price of around 15,000 to compete with Samsung which has a strong hold in the developing country like India.
Clearly, the California based electronic giant is trying to raise its share in India which is one of the biggest mobile markets in the world. Earlier, Apple stopped selling iPhone 4 in markets across the world to boom the sales of its newer models that includes iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s.
After taking out the iPhone 4 in major markets the company stopped manufacturing the model so the Indian consumer will probably get their hands on the stocked units. Does it make any difference though, not necessarily?
iPhone 4 was first launched in 2010 but it reached almost a year later when Aircel and Airtel started selling it in the country in May 2011.
The company will be pitching in the iPhone 4’s 8 Gb model that has 3.5 inch display with the resolution of 640X960 pixels. It has a 5 megapixels rear camera along with 0.3 megapixels VGA front camera. The camera is equipped with an LED flash and can record high quality videos of 720.
iPhone 4 was the first smartphone to have highest resolution retina display and front camera at the time of its launch. The device comes with 512 MB RAM and 1420 mAh battery which promises around 14 hours of talk time and 12.5 days of standby time.
One would argue Apple’s decision to bring back iPhone 4 in India at a low cost but the truth is there is a large chunk of Apple wanna be in India who would be willing to own a fresh piece of Apple for Rs 15,000.
