We are just some days away from Apple Inc’s grand Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) and information about the content of the keynote has started fuelling the rumour mill in the technology news corridors.
According to one of the predictions, Apple CEO Tim Cook can offer a new range of iPhone 5S and the device will be a move to target emerging markets like India that focus more on price front.
KGI Security’s well known analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo believes that with the launch a smaller capacity iPhone 5s with 8GB will open new markets for the company and at the same time the reduced price will make Apple’s presence in the market stronger.
Apart from the lower-cost and lower-capacity iPhone 5s, there more things that are expected to find their ways into the keynote. The Cupertino-based company’s latest mobile operating system iOS 8 will definitely be announced during the WWDC.
If we talk about Apple’s Mac division, the company is also expected to announce lower-cost iMacs. Kuo suggests that new panel lamination and casing yields and parts-bin components being used in the MacBook lineup can be the biggest factor in reducing the price of iMacs.
Kuo had earlier suggested that Apple will reduce the price of iMacs and will also launch new Retina MacBook Air during this year’s WWDC.
Apple is also expected to show the new version of Mac OS X and the software will be called OS X 10.10.
As all these points are coming from an analyst and not from the official sources, we should take all of them with a pinch of salt. However, given the record Kuo holds in unearthing Apple’s strategies and plans, most of these points may well find their way into the key announcements of this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference.
