Blackberry’s latest smartphone BlackBerry Z10 is now available in many parts of the world, and the device is also going to be available in the U.S. soon as the preorders are already open. Here we compare BlackBerry Z10 and Apple’s iPhone 5 and tell you which smartphone gains point in which area.
Display: The iPhone 5 comes with a 4-inch LED-backlit IPS LCD capacitive touch screen with 640×1136 pixel. The BlackBerry Z10 has some more centimeters in the display size to offer. The Z10 sports a 4.2-inch capacitive touch screen with 768×1280 pixel. BlackBerry Z10 also manages to score a point here over the pixel density as it comes with ~355 ppi pixel density whereas Galaxy S3 has only ~326 ppi pixel density.
Processor: The powerhouse of a smartphone always rests in processor. Apple’s iPhone comes with Apple’s own A6 dual-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz supported by a 1 GB of RAM. The BlackBerry Z10 comes with Qualcomm’s dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor clocked at 1.5 GHz supported by a 2 GB of RAM.
Camera: This a battle ground where these two devices compete neck to neck. Both the phones feature 8 megapixel rear-facing cameras; however, as far as the front-facing camera is concerned, BB Z10 comes with a 2 megapixel camera whereas Apple falls back with a 1.2 megapixel one.
OS: The BlackBerry Z10 runs BlackBerry’s latest BB 10 operating system. Being a new operating system may have its own teething problem. At the other hand, Apple iPhone 5 runs the reliable and tested iOS 6. The iPhone 5 can be upgraded to iOS 6.1 and more advanced iOS whenever released.
Storage: Here come the point that makes you worried when you want to store your pictures, videos and music files. Apple iPhone 5 comes in 16/32/64 GB internal memory versions and there is no option of external memory with the Apple device like always. The BlackBerry Z10 comes only with 16 GB internal memory and the external memory slot of the phone supports a microSD card of up to 64 GB.
