One of the fastest mobile game to gain the top 10 slot as free-app for Apple iOS and Android devices has finally been pulled out of the Apple App Store and Google Play.
Flappy Bird suddenly became a smash hit among the mobile gamers and it didn’t take much time for this maddening game to reach the top slot of the app charts. However, the creator of the game wasn’t happy with the sudden fame and decided to remove it from both the app stores.
The move of the Vietnam’s game developer Dong Nguyen was really surprising because when Flappy Bird said good bye, it was generating more than $50,000 per day from in-app advertisements. But Nguyen chose peace of mind over popularity and money, and finally did what he promised to the fans of Flappy Bird.
Though the game has been pulled out for the iOS and Android devices, Windows Phone users are lucky to have it for their platform. However, the game doesn’t look genuine when we go deep in the app details.
The actual Flappy Bird, which was available on Google Play and Apple App Store, was published under Dot Gears and the official developer of the game is named Dong Nguyen. The version available on Windows Phone market is published under the name of IG Mobile and it is highly unlikely that IG Mobile and Dot Gears are the same developers as Nguyen has clearly indicated that he is not going to sell this game to anyone.
When we went to Flappy Bird link in the Windows Phone market, the install link was still live and taking us to Windows Phone login page.
For Android device also the game is available, but obviously in unauthorized .APK versions.
There are many other similar games who have come up after Flappy Bird’s success so they can cash on the name by little bit of fooling around.
Here is the link for Windows Phones version of Flappy Bird.
