The web major is all set to start the preorders of its new flagship Google Nexus 6 on OCt 29th and its no surprise that company has kept the event as low profile as the launch of its new nexus smartphone. Most exciting part of Nexus 6 is that its going to be the first device to come with latest Android 5.0 Lollipop but that just a teaser this time around Google has a number of surprises planned for Nexus 6 buyers.
Design:
So by now you may already know that new Google Nexus 6 is manufactured by Motorola and not LG and the number 6 not only represent gen next Nexus but also the screen size. That right Nexus 6 comes with whopping 6 inch display that makes it one of the biggest Android phablet in the market. With size also comes the disadvantage of weight as at 184 g Nexus 6 appears to be one of the bulkiest smartphone in the market.
Although the Motorola designed Nexus 6 looks like a close cousin of Moto X its much bigger screen and splash proof design and side buttons set it apart.
6 inch Display:
A whopping 6 inch screen is nothing without a good display and Google Nexus 6 has made sure you have no complain in this segment. The device come equipped with 1440X2560 pixels AMOLED display that gives you amazing 493 ppi.
Android 5.0 L:
One of the main reason people prefer Google Nexus devices is due to their firsthand experience of latest Android OS. Google Nexus 6 is going to be the first smartphone to put the fresh Android 5.0 Lollipop in the brain of its new smartphone.
13 MP Camera with OIS:
Google has taken a big leap forward in the camera segment as it jumped from 8 megapixels rear camera in Nexus 5 to 13 Megapixels primary camera in Nexus 6. The front camera segment has also received and upgrade from 1.3 megapixels to 2 MP. Optical image stabilization, dual LED flash and video recording of 4k quality are other bonus features which are new to Nexus lineup.
Powerful 805 Chip:
Apart from the huge 6 inch screen a boosted processor is the second biggest thing in Nexus 6 that Google is bragging about. The latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 ApQ8084 with the speed of 2.7 GHz makes Nexus 6 one of the fastest Android machines. The device comes in 32 GB and 64 internal memory variants and sport 2 GB RAM.
Wireless Charging and Puffed Battery:
To support huge 6 inch display and keep the fast processor running Google has also installed a powerful 3220 battery in Nexus 6. Google promises about 24 hours of talk time and around 12 hours of web usage in one charge. Nexus fans would be happy to know that the new device also comes with a built in wireless charger.
Price and Availability:
Here lies the biggest surprise of all; the new Google Nexus 6 is priced at $699 in USA which is considerably pretty high compare to previous nexus devices. While an Apple iPhone 6 costs $650 Google has made a daring move by listing its flagship at a high price but we cannot forget the fact that with 6 inch screen and major revamp in specs Nexus 6 is a lot of phone. We hate to say it but the last time Motorola and Google got together to build a flagship phone (Moto X Original) it didn’t turn out to be a success, hope this one turns out be a different case.
