It’s official that Satya Nadella is replacing current CEO Steve Ballmer to take responsibility as the new CEO of Microsoft Corporation. The former VP of company’s cloud services speak for the first time after taking the charge of the largest IT company in the world.
Nadella said that I am honored, humbled and excited to take the responsibility.
“Microsoft is one of those rare companies to have truly revolutionized the world through technology, and I couldn’t be more honored to have been chosen to lead the company.” Satya Nadella stated in the interview. The new CEO also stressed that he is aware of the challenges that lies ahead and he is ready to tackle them.
Bill Gates,the founder of Microsoft who was serving as a chairman of the company has also taken a new role and play as a Technical Adviser for new product. He took the opportunity to introduce and welcome Satya Nadella as new CEO.
In a video welcome for Nadella, Gates says
“During this time of the transformation, there is no better person to lead Microsoft than Satya Nadella.”
“Satya is a proven leader with hard-core engineering skills, business vision and the ability to bring people together. His vision for how technology will be used and experienced around the world is exactly what Microsoft needs as the company enters its next chapter of expanded product innovation and growth.” He added.
46 year old Nadella has been working in Microsoft for 22 years and had handled many important roles in the past. After completing his initial studies in hometown Hyderabad India he went to Manipal University to get a degree in Electronics and Communication. He joined Microsoft in 1992 after competing his Masters in Computer Science from University of Wisconsin and another Masters degree in Business Administration from Chicago University,
