HTC has been in many rumors because of its upcoming HTC One mini. However, the Taiwanese company is also getting ready to release two more new flagship devices – HTC One Max and HTC Butterfly 2 – to fuel its sales in the fourth quarter this year.
The HTC One Max is rumored to be codenamed T6 and the device is expected to run Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie onboard.
Alvin Kwock from J.P. Morgan Hong Kong, in his note to investors, revealed that many big wireless carriers are interest in HTC One Max smartphone because it will be the only smartphone with a uni-body casing back cover to be released in the second quarter.
“A strong pipeline of flagship model launches/carrier rollout may fuel HTC’s up-cycle for the rest of the year,” Kwock was quoted by Focus Taiwan.
Apart from the HTC One Max, Kwock also forecasted the release of HTC Butterfly 2 in the same quarter. The HTC Butterfly 2 is also expected to increase HTC’s revenue by the end of the year.
Kwock also gave high ratings to HTC shares with a target price of $13. “We also expect margins to improve sharply in the second half of 2013, on improving casing yield and success of high-end flagship models,” he said.
The specifications of the Butterfly 2 are not found in any HTC related rumors so far, but the HTC One Max (T6) has made some headlines recently.
The HTC One Max is rumored to be coming with a 5.9 inch 1080 pixel display. The almost 6 inch tablet is being seen as a tough competitor of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Note 3 that is also expected to be almost same display size.
Apart from the display size, the One Max is also rumored to come with an S-pen like stylus that will take the Galaxy Note 3 advantage away to some extent.
“Great care is apparently being put into making the pen usage here a premium experience, so expect a nicely crafted stylus with an ultra-thin tip capable of a full suite of content creation and manipulation capabilities. It wasn’t known whether Scribe, the company’s pen suite for its short-lived lineup of (two) Android tablets, would be powering the T6 experience as well,” a report from The Unlocker said.
