Micromax, the Indian mobile phone manufacturer that recently became the second largest smartphone brand in India, has released another product to eat into country’s smartphone share.
The company has taken its Canvas series to a new level with the all new Canvas 116 Ego that is now available for orders on ebay.in and snapdeal.com.
The 4 incher is equipped with WVGA display and packs a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor. The smartphone has 4 GB of internal memory that can be extended up to 32 GB. The device is supported with a 1 GB of RAM. The list of surprises doesn’t end here as we are yet to talk about its shooter. The Canvas 116 Ego sports an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash.
Surprisingly, there is no mention about the front-facing camera on the retailers’ website, but we anticipate the front camera is going to somewhere between 1.3-2 megapixel.
The smartphone is going to run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box.
Micromax has put the Canvas 116 Ego in the midrange category and priced it at Rs. 13,000 which is a way decent deal for the kind specifications the new smartphone comes with. The retailers promise to deliver it within 3-4 working days.
The company recently launched its other Canvas smartphone, Canvas Fun A74 that is priced at Rs 7,749.
Micromax holds 22 percent of India’s smartphone marker slightly behind Samsung that holds 26 percent of the market.
