The news about Blackberry exploring potential buyers spread like a wild fire around the world and surprised the technology world. Although, it is common sense that once a ruler of the mobile phone market “BlackBerry” is struggling to keep up with the popular touch screen technology.
The company that was once considered a leader of high end mobile phones failed to keep up with latest technology and trends. BlackBerry took a long time to understand the touch screen market and technology before they came up with BB10 but perhaps it was too late. Over the years the unsatisfied blackberry consumers have already found their ideal match in more practical Android and iOS smartphones, phablets and tablets.
However, Blackberry is still among few Smartphone makers who have their own software and BB’s messenger and secured email network is one of the best. These things might give the Canadian company an edge while looking for buyers and strategic partners for business.
Surprisingly, amid speculations Blackberry is not shying away from announcing new projects. On Tuesday the company has revealed its plans to launch a new line of phones in Europe, Asia and Middle East, Africa and Latin America that will run on its old operating system. Clearly, the north american market might not have much potential for BlackBerry but the company still sees prospects in other parts of the world.
