Highly vulnerable Heart Bleed Bug has every web users sweating as it claims millions victim around the world. The deadly bug is revealing thousands username password and personal data to hackers and cyber attackers every hour. Heart Bleed bug is affecting websites that use OpenSSL software to save web users data online and there is thousands of website that uses this software.
This Bug’s damage is as bad as it sounds as it can reveal your email, passwords, user names, direct messages, credit card information and corporate communication to hackers. With so much at stack it is best that you do everything you can to ensure your safety on the web.
One such step is to know which websites are affected by the bug so far so you can act immediately to change your passwords and remove private data. It’s known that social network website Yahoo is affected by the bug so the company has requested via its micro blogging site tumblr that its user change their password ASAP. Recent reports indicate that another largely used social network Flickr is also vulnerable to heart bleed bug.
However, Yahoo is claiming to have fixed the vulnerability for most of their website like yahoo search, yahoo mail, yahoo news and other popular yahoo web portals.
Thousands of Amazon customers are also fearing vulnerability but the online shopping giant has stated that it has fixed the vulnerability and there is no alarming situation for Amazon consumers.
“We can confirm that all load balancers affected by the issue described in CVE-2014-0160 have now been updated in all Regions. If you are terminating your SSL connections on your Elastic Load Balancer, you are no longer vulnerable to the Heartbleed bug.” Amazon stated on its website.
As per a list released by web development community site Github, popular website which got affected by the lethal bug includes stackoverflow.com, addthis.com, addfly.com, addthis.com, stackexcahnge.com, dating website Okcupid.com, post site redtube.com and many more. You can check the full list to see more venerable sites.
Luckily, as per Github the websites that most of us use on regular basis like Google.com, Facebook.com, Twitter.com, Pinterest.com, Tumblr.com, Instagram.com and Wikipedia.com are not yet venerable to Heart Bleed bug. Few social network sites like Linkedin.com and weibo and bing do not use SSL so they are clear from the risk as well.
