Micromax is always known for giving tough fight to the high profile products of famous mobile manufacturers, but this time the company went one step ahead and gave direct fight to Nokia as it launched Micromax Canvas Elanza 2 (A121).
The surprising fact here is that Micromax went ahead to make its new smartphone available online just after some hours Nokia launched its Lumia 630 in the Indian market.
Nokia aimed to lure customers who were going gaga after getting to know the features and price of Motorola’s Moto E, and launched the Lumia 630 for Rs 10,300. But the company, which was once the leading mobile handset maker, didn’t realize the Indian threat to its new product.
Micromax Canvas Elanza 2 was seen on the company website last week, and the new smartdevice has now become official at the price of Rs 9,340.
Here we compare the two newly released handsets to see which one is going to suite your pocket.
Display: The first thing a mobile user looks for is the screen size and the display resolution. The Nokia Lumia 630 comes with a 4.5 inch screen and 480×854 pixel resolution display whereas the Micromax Canvas Elanza 2 sports a good 5 inch screen with much better 720×1280 pixel resolution display. The Lumia 630 comes with Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
Processor: As the price difference in both the device is very less Nokia uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz and Elanza 2 runs on Snapdragon 200 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz. Micromax lags slightly behind in this section as the combination of GPU and CPU is going to affect the performance of apps especially gaming apps.
Memory: When it comes to internal memory, Nokia Lumia 630 offers you an 8 GB of internal memory but at the same time it can support external memory of 128 GB with the help of a microSD slot. The RAM of the Lumia 630 is 512 MB. The Elanza 2 comes with 4 GB of internal memory and it can be extended to 32 GB with a microSD card. The RAM of Elanza 2 is 1 GB.
Operating System: The Mircomax Canvas Elanza 2 is going to run Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box where as Nokia Lumia 630 is coming with Microsoft’s latest Windows Phone 8.1.
Battery: Micromax has put a 2000 mAh battery in the Elanza 2 and the company claims that the device can run for 240 hours on standby or 7.5 hours talktime with once charge. The Nokia Lumia 630 comes with 1830 mAh battery.
Camera: The Elanza 2 is obviously going to get an upper hand in this section for its 8 megapixel rear-facing and 2 megapixel front-facing autofocus cameras with one LED flash light. The Lumia 630 comes with a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera without a flash advantage.
Techloon Verdict: Micromax this time managed to pack its product very nicely with a leather back panel and the looks and the basic specifications that mobile buyers usually look for are planned very nicely. The pricing of the device works as cherry on the cake with lovely decoration. However, if you are looking for a performance oriented smartphone, Nokia Lumia 630 should be your choice even if you were to pay Rs 1000 extra for it.
As Lumia 630 runs Windows Phone 8.1, its performance is going to be buttery smooth as the operating system consumes very less RAM when compared to Android. The CPU and GPU section of Lumia is also more powerful than Elanza 2.
