Micromax Yu Yureka has been making all the right noises ever since the top Desi mobile maker announced its partnership with Cynogen to go big. The latest Smartphone from Micromax’s powerhouse is something that may define the new image of the local smartphone maker that is going through a makeover as it makes global footprints.

Yureka is not the best looking device from the Micromax factory but it is surely most thoughtfully designed smartphone for the price range. The moonstone gray color gives the smartphone a rich look and the rugged back provide firm grip. It measures 154.8mm x 78mm x 8.8mm but for a 5.5 inch phablet it is still lightweight at 155 gm.

The 720X1080p display on whopping 5.5 inch screen may not be the best thing on such big screen but you had to be reasonable at the Rs 8,999 price point.
Software & Hardware:
The Cynogen Operating System might be the most talked about thing in Micromax Yu Yureka after all the preloaded Cynogen 11 is what makes this smartphone a Yureka. Until now the Indian Smartphone makers including Micromax have done little to play with OS to enhance performance and save battery life.
Yu Yureka packs some promising set of hardware for a sub 10,000 for 1.5 GHz Octacore processor, 2 GB RAM along with 16 GB internal memory that is expandable through micro SD for up to 32 GB. Yu Yureka is one the few sub 10,000 smartphone that supports 4G connectivity.
Camera:
With top class 13 megapixels rear camera with f2.2 aperture and 5 MP front (71 Degree field view ) camera Micromax was clearly declaring a war with Xiaomi Redmi. The Sony EXMOR CMOS sensor make it clear that Micromax is leaving no stone unturned to compete with Chinese rivals who begin to threat the Desi smartphone makers territory. Yu Yureka also shoots slow motion videos for 60 frames per second.

Being the leader in the budget market Micromax knows what the Indian consumer expect for their money so it has smartly pitched Yu Yureka in the sub 10,000 price range to compete with it’s arch rival Xiaomi Redmi Plus. For the price of Rs 8,999 Micromax Yu Yureka not only come as an Indian alternative to other Chinese low cost competitor but rebrand Micromax as a company that is flexing muscles to eat a bigger share in budget smartphone market.
