Microsoft has announced its new operating system and the OS is going to be called Windows 10!
Don’t be shocked and look for Windows 9 in the list of Microsoft products because the company has jumped from Windows 8 to Windows 10 directly.
The tech giant is going to sell the Windows 10 from the middle of next year and claims to be bringing a lot of new things for the users.
Although there is no clear reason behind Microsoft dropping the Windows 9 title for the new operating system, we expect that this has got something to do with the unexpected poor reception of the Windows 8, which was launched two years ago.
Steve Ballmer, who was the CEO at the launch of Windows 8, tried to bring the mobile device or tablet feel on the desktop computers by making Windows 8 touch-friendly and tile based. However, the gamble didn’t pay off well and the desktop and laptop users outrightly rejected Windows 8 as it was really difficult and confusing for users who work with keyboard and mouse instead of the touch screen.
Now, Microsoft is under intense pressure of bringing out an operating system, which lives up to the Windows image and satisfies the users of touch-based devices and keyboard-based devices at the same time.
Staya Nadella, the present CEO of Microsoft, will also be driving the forces in the company to make the new Widows 10 user friendly for both touch-screens users and PC users. If the company doesn’t take care of the new experience as well as the user friendliness this time also, it is going to start losing its ground in the software field.
The failure of Windows 8 is being seen as the main reason behind Windows 9 title being dropped. Experts are of the view that Microsoft is trying to disassociate itself from the ‘single digit’ version and wants to create sought of a new brand identity with Windows 10.
“Windows 10 represents the first step in a whole new generation of Windows,” said Terry Myerson, executive vice president of Microsoft’s operating systems group.
