Raising concern over safety of woman in India has inspired Microsoft India engineers to develop Guardian security app that help protect needy at the time of distress.The app that has features like ‘Track Me’, ‘Locate’ and ‘Report an Incident’ will be solely available to Windows devices.
Talking about the inspiration behind the MD of Microsoft India Raj Biyani said that “Incidents such as ‘Nirbhaya’ prompted the global IT giant to come out with an app aiming at protecting women.”
The app has an SOS button that could alert the security agencies, hospitals and Police forces at the time of emergency. The ‘Track Me’ feature in the app allows the friends and family of user to track her with the help of Microsoft’s Bing Map and Azure cloud service.
The App is developed by a group of engineers who have put in their creative minds at ‘Microsoft Garage’ to create the helpful application. Microsoft is the software major’s global initiative that provides a platform for its employees to work on innovative ideas at spare time.
To maximize the potential of the ‘Guardian App’ the users should fill details like contact number of close friends and family member. The app sends an alert massage to all your emergency contact in the time of distress as soon as you activate it.
It not all the app will also send email alert to your close friend and family and related people and groups on Facebook if you enter those details.
The best thing about this App is that the tracking feature remains activated even if the phone breaks or shatters. Guardian security app also features a one touch video recording feature that could be helpful to record videos of incidents and later used as evidence if required.
Although Guardian App has been advertised as a Woman Safety application it could be proven very useful in the cases of abduction and other security issues as well.
