The familiar Microsoft Office experience can now be enjoyed on apple’s iPad with the new Office for iPad App which is now available for purchase on App Store. The newly appointed CEO of Microsoft Satya Nadela launched office for iPad in a press conference at San Francisco today. The new Office 365 app includes Word, Excel and PowerPoint and it is now available for purchase on the App Store.
The newly launched app comes with a freemium version which means you can read and present the office 365 documents on your iPad for free but you will have to purchase the App to create or edit one.
According to Microsoft “you can sign up for a free 30 day Office 365 trial at www.office.com/try. Then download the Office for iPad apps in the App Store. During your trial period, you can use Office across your PC, Mac and iPad.”
Although, Apple already have its version of Office called iWork for iPad users it would be really interesting to see how Apple users react to the full set of Office tools from Microsoft. Perhaps, for many who use both windows computer and iPad on a regular basis this is going to be the best of both worlds.
The Office App for iPad is integrated with Microsoft’s cloud services for easy sharing. The Office App is available for iPad with iOS 7.0 or latest version installed so make sure you have the latest iOS to purchase the App.
The Office App is available for $99/ year on App Store or you can also choose to pay 9.99/ month. Microsoft has a discount plan for college students that offer 4 years of Office usage at $ 79.

Office for iPad is second move by the software giant to spread their popular home and work Software beyond desktop and laptops. Last year the software major launched Office version for rival smartphone platforms, iOS and Android Freemium package is also available on Office for Phone.
