
Microsoft Corporation today announced Surface Pro 3, a new tablet that sports 12 inch screen and snappy 4th generation Intel Core i7 processor. The Software giant is hoping to steer the Laptop/PC market with its small size tablet that can also be used as a PC. Microsoft is also already claiming the Supface Pro 3 to be the “thinnest Core PC ever made” which sends a clear message that Pro 3 is in to compete tablet plus laptops market.
With 30% lighter design compare to latest Macbook Air (without key board attachment) Surface Pro 3 is hoping to challenge the leader in the lightweight PC market.
The new Microsoft surface Pro 3 runs on latest Windows 8.1 OS that has improved upon a lot of minor flaws of old Windows 8. It is smoother and more intuitive that gives Pro 3 an extra edge, multitasking ability of Pro 3 is one of the strong hold of this tablet.
The new Pro 3 has changed the positioning of the multi-position kickstand for better handling and the Dolby speaker in new tablet has got better spot and louder sound compare to Surface Pro 2.
The improved Surface pen that comes with the tablet has a new feature that launches a fresh OneNote page with a click of a pen. We can already see corporate users getting excited about this new Surface pen feature that cut the time and hassle of manually opening a new page every time they need to note down something.
Thanks to the new i7 Intel Core processor Pro 3 offers 9 hours of web surfing battery life. In the connectivity segment Pro 3 packs full size USB 3.0 port, Micro SD slot and a Mini display port.
At the starting price of $799 new Surface Pro 3 comes $100 cheaper than predecessor Pro 2. The tablet is available for pre-order in three different configurations of i3, i5 and i7 processors at Microsoft’s e store.
