The credibility and durability of smartphones made by Motorola are on a high since the company launched its Moto series. The maker of Moto X and Moto G devices has now come up with Motorola Droid Turbo which is going out for grabs in America from October 30.
When Moto X is all about looks and style, Motorola Droid Turbo is something that is designed keeping the toughness and long lasting performance in mind. And obviously the name suggests the same.
The Motorola Droid Turbo sports a 5.2 inch Super AMOLED quad HD display with 140×2560 pixels and ~565 pixel density. The display is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3.
Verizon has got exclusive rights of the Motorola Droid Turbo, which is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor clocked at 2.7 GHz. The powerful chipset is supported by a hefty 3 GB of RAM and the graphics will get a boost with the Adrino 420 GPU packed inside.
The Motorola Droid Turbo’s camera section also justifies the devices name as it comes with a 21 megapixel rear-facing camera and a simple 2 megapixel front-facing camera for video chat. The 21 megapixel camera is Motorola’s fastest camera that records 4K video at 24 frames per second.
The camera app comes with options like quick capture, HDR, slow motion video and some other photo editing features. The powerful camera on the back of the Motorola Droid Turbo is flanked by LED flash lights.
If you don’t keep a good care of your device in terms of going out in rain, you will not have to change your habits just because you own a good smartphone. The Droid Turbo comes with water-repellent nano-coating inside and outside the device making the smartphone water resistant. However, it doesn’t mean you can dunk it in water like Sony Xperia Z.
The biggest advantage of the Motoroal Droid Turbo is the battery. The smartphone comes with a huge 3,900 mAh battery that gives you a long lasting power backup. The company claims to be delivering 48 hours of mixed usage with the massive battery. It also comes with a turbo charging feature that gives up to 8 hours of performance with a mere 15 minutes of charging.
The Motorola Droid Turbo, as of now, is going to be available in US only. However, reports from Brazil suggest that Motorola is going to release the device for rest of the world with a different name. Moto Maxx is the rumoured new name for the international version of Motorola Droid Turbo.
The new name Moto Maxx makes sense for Indian market as Motorola earlier released its Droid smartphone as Motorola Razr Maxx.
The Motoroal Droid Turbo is going to run Android 4.4.4 KitKat out of the box which will soon be shifted to Android 5 Lollipop.
