The Japanese company’s latest 3D game device is earning profit but Nintendo is looking to create a bigger market with 2DS. This new portable game machine from Nintendo will share all the feature of its pricy counterpart Nintendo 3DS except the 3rd dimension. Although, 2DS has adopted most features of its elder brother it has lost the clameshall casing that makes it look different from the other DS counterparts. Nintendo 2Ds runs almost all the titles of DS and 3DS except few old DS titles which require addition cable plug-in.
With unlimited game access on the touch screen tablet and smartphones these days Nintendo is facing fierce competition from iOS and Android devices. On the other hand new gaming tools from other major game makers like Microsoft and Sony will be heating up the competition in November.
Hoping to sweep the market Nintendo has announced to release Nintendo 2DS ahead of the lauch of Sony’s and Microsoft’s new devices. The company will be releasing 2DS on Oct. 12 that will also mark the launch of much awaited Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. Nintendo 2DS will be available in four colors black, white, red and blue and have a 4 GB SD card. It will cost about $130 which is 40 dollars cheaper than Nintendo 3DS. Would anyone want to skip a dimension for $40? Only the sales of 2DS will give us that answer.
