It’s time to go Big! This is what Nokia India is planning to do this Monday dating December 16 as it prepares to launch its two new phablets – Nokia Lumia 1520 and Nokia Lumia 1320.
Nokia released its counter to Android-based tablets in October when it officially announced the Nokia Lumia 1520 and the Finland-based tech giant is going to battle it out in Indian market from next week.
The Nokia Lumia 1520 is Nokia’s first high-end phablet running Windows Phone 8 and is going to give a tough competition to Android phablets like Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Sony Xperia Z Ultra.
This is going to be Nokia’s best bet in its Lumia series as the device comes with a 6-inch huge screen with 1080×1920 pixel full HD display. Though the design of the device is just like other Lumia smartphones, the full HD display and Nokia’s native ClearBlack IPS technology are definitely going to make the Nokia Lumia 1520 something impressive.
The list of impressive features doesn’t end with the display. Talking about the performance, the phablet is surely going to deliver things with zipping speed because of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor clocked at 2.2 GHz packed inside. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 CPU is the fastest processor found in mobile devices till date.
To make things smoother, Nokia has put a whopping 2 GB of RAM inside the device to ensure seamless functioning of a device which has 32 GB of internal storage and supports a microSD card of up to 64 GB.
When it comes to camera, Nokia goes big once again and brings in a 20 megapixel Nokia PureView rear-facing camera with autofocus, optical image stabilization, Carl Zeiss optics and, obviously, an LED flash. The Nokia Lumia 1520 comes equipped with a 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera.
The device is juiced up by a mammoth 3400 mAh non-removable battery that is going to give one day of use without worrying about a charge, but expecting much from a high-end big-screen phablet will be something to much to ask for.
Reviewers are expecting the device to be close to Rs 45,000 but the final figure will be revealed once the smartphone becomes official in the Indian market and Nokia executives mince some words about the price.
(Addition: Nokia Lumia 1520 launched for 46,999 rupees on 16th December )
