Chinese smartphone maker, Oppo, is gaining market in China and Asian countries like India with its lighter and camera oriented devices such as the ultra-thin Oppo R5 and selfie special Oppo N3 and N1. However, the company seems to be in an attempt to take on Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge as it is reportedly building a complete bezel-free device.
The purported smartphone from Oppo is dubbed as Oppo R7 and leaked images of the device are already doing rounds over the Internet.
As Samsung released it curved display smartphone Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge last month, Oppo is also willing to cash in on a display quotient.
The bezel-less Oppo R7 looks really amazing and big, however, on the point of practical usage the device might not get the kind of market response it is looking for.
In the world when people can’t get away from touching and pressing unwanted keys in their touch devices which come with a decent size of bezel, the border-less Oppo R7 looks riskier for normal users.
Though the edge to edge display has been in talks and strategies of big smartphone makers for a very long time, Sharp is the only company which incorporated this concept in its Aquos Crystal smartphone.
The new technology for this edge-to-edge display basically hides the display bezel instead of removing it. A clever use of diffraction creates an illusion of extended display panel till the edges.
The Oppo R7 is expected to come with a 5.5 inch display and might be powered by MediaTek’s octa-core processor. Though the internal memory of the smartphone is not yet disclosed, the RAM of support of it is expected to be of 4 GB.
One more point Oppo R7 is going to score is the camera as it is going to land with a huge 20.7 megapixel primary camera. If the thickness of the device is going to be kept as Oppo R5’s thickness at 4.85 mm, the Oppo R7 will be a device to crave for.
