Samsung has revealed plans for making a foldable display device that will be a Samsung Fonblet, it also promises superhuman display in smartphones by 2014.
The company which is rather secretive about their upcoming models was pretty generously talking their future in a conference on Wednesday at Seoul. The name Fonblet was doing the rounds for quite a while in the rumor world and now Samsung says that the name is for their new twistable full screen device.
The electronic major also planning on increasing the display quality in their smartphone by a whopping number by next few years. Samsung plans to give its smartphones the resolution display of WQHD (2560X1440) next year and increase it to (3840X2106) by 2015. The numbers sounds amazing in figures but the reality is pretty disappointing.
According to experts a human eye will barely be able to make any difference between the current display on Galaxy S4 and the smartphone with WQHD (2560X1440). The fine details in the super HD display on a 5 inch screen is hardly recognized by a normal human eye and that’s what makes us question, do we really need a display we actually don’t need?
The South Korea based company sells most gadgets in the world but it is often criticized for making pointless things in the name of innovation and creativity. Recently the company has announced a curve screen smartphone named Samsung Galaxy Round which was called a needless innovation by many tech critics. However, Samsung is hardly affected by all this criticism as the company reveals its plans to add more devices to its so called innovative lineup.
Ironically, the company has been ignorant about the fact that its software TouchWiz has a lot of room for improvement. When asked about the flaws in their software the Company’s representative accepted that it needs attention. He also said that Samsung’s software performs poor compare to its hardware and the company will be spending around half of its R&D budget on software. If that happens, we are sure that we will be seeing a lot more meaningful and truly innovative product coming out the Samsung’s factory in near future.
