Samsung has launched is much awaited mid range smartphone Galaxy Grand Neo in India at Rs18,299. The Neo variant of Galaxy Grand share a lot of features with the first Galaxy Grand like dual-sim options, big 5 inch screen with the resolution of 800X480p.
The Galaxy Grand Neo is Samsung’s another shot to compete with rivals Sony, LG and Micromax which are giving touch fight to the Korean major in the budget market. The original price of the smartphone is around 19,000 e commerce websites the mobile store and flipkart are selling it on discount prices.
Neo has the same 2100 mAh battery and 1 GB RAM as its predecessor but what seem surprising is this it runs on same Android 4.2.2 out o the box like original Galaxy Grand.
Feature as good as Galaxy Grand at lower price sounds too good to be true and it actually is. Samsung has managed to cut the price of Galaxy Neo by putting a less powerful camera and cheaper A7 chip in the hardware.
Galaxy Grand sports 8 Megapixels rear camera and 2 MP front camera while the new cheaper Galaxy Neo comes with 5 MP rear and a VGA camera at the front. Neo has advantage though as it comes with 16 GB internal memory compare to just half 8 GB in Galaxy Grand. Although, with Sony and LG already have mid range models with latest Android 4.4 KitKat on the shelves Samsung will have to announce an upgrade for Grand Neo.
