It’s raining Samsung updates and news in India as the South Korean smartphone maker is updating its fleet of Galaxy devices in the subcontinent.
Just a day after the Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo made its way to the Indian market, Samsung pushed the Neo variant of its another Galaxy flagship smart device, but this time it’s a phablet.
The Korean company made an announcement at the Samsung Forum 2014 in Bali that the Galaxy Note 3 Neo is going to be available in Indian pretty soon.
The Galaxy Note 3 Neo was announced last month at the CES and the device looks pretty much like the Galaxy Note 3.
In other words the Galaxy Note 3 Neo is just a little downgraded phablet.
The device comes with a 5.5 inch screen with 1280×720 pixel Super AMOLED display. The Galaxy Note 3 comes with a 5.7 inch of full HD screen.
The Galaxy Note 3 Neo is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.6 GHz for 3G versions where as the LTE version is powered by a Hexa-core processor.
The Hexa-core processor is a combination of a dual-core CPU clocked at 1.7 GHz and a quad-core Exynos processor clocked at 1.3 GHz.
The Note 3 Neo sports an 8 megapixel front camera with an LED flash and 1080 pixel video recording, the front-facing camera is of 2 megapixel.
Storage wise, the device looks decent as it comes with a 16 GB of internal memory out of which 5 GB will be used by the OS and the pre-installed applications and rest 11 GB will left for user. The storage can be extended up to 64 GB with the help of a microSD card. Galaxy Note 3 Neo sports 2 GB of RAM.
When it comes to the operating software, Galaxy Note 3 Neo is going to run Android 4.3 out of the box. The phablet is juiced up by a 3100 mAh battery.
The device looks exactly like Galaxy Note 3 and comes with an S Pen stylus and faux leather back cover.
All the S Pen features available in the Galaxy Note 3 are going to be available in the Galaxy Note 3 Neo also. The features are: Action Memo, Scrapbook, Write Screen, Finder, Pen Window and a range of Samsung-specific software features such as Easy Clip, Multi Window, S Note, My Magazine, S Voice, S Health, Group Play, Smart Scroll, Smart Pause and more. It has Club Samsung Store for Music, Movies, Mobile TV & Gigs, that also offers content in Hindi, Punjabi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi and Gujarati.
The Note 3 Neo will be available in Black, Mint Green and White color variants and is priced at Rs. 40,900. It will be seen in the Indian market sometime in Q1 2014.
To make the new device a more hit Samsung has started taking the pre-orders for first 1000 Galaxy Note 3 Neo and the price is Rs 2000 lower than the actual price. Samsung is taking the pre-orders for just Rs 38, 990.
The Galaxy Note 3 is available for Rs 44, 737 on Amazon where as Flipkart and Snapdeal are selling the device for Rs. 43,301 and Rs. 43,849 respectively. The lowest price for the Galaxy Note 3 comes from eBay India which sells it for just Rs. 41,909.
