
The much awaited Samsung Galaxy S5 has finally made its way to the Indian market and is available for grabs for Rs 51,500.
During the launch of the Galaxy S5 flagship smartphone, Samsung had indicated that the device would be priced somewhere between Rs 51,000 and Rs 53,000.
As the new smartphone is now available for Indian buyers, ecommerce websites have all updated their inventories with the Samsung Galaxy S5 units.
To lure more and more customers for the high end and high priced device, different retailers are opting to different approaches. As some of them have gone for making it a straight cash back offer for the buyers, others are offering goodies like accessories and extended warranty.
Leading the list of the retailers, The Mobile Store is offering 20 per cent of cash back for Citi Bank credit card holders. If you don’t hold a Citi Bank credit card, you don’t have to be disappointed as the store is offering 5 per cent cash bank on all other cards. If you are a Jet Privilage member then the deal will become more lucrative for you with 5000 JPMiles coming to your kitty with the smartphone.
Surprisingly, Flipkart didn’t offer anything, so far, for the newly launched device and the Samsung Galaxy S5 is available on Flipkart for Rs 51,500.
At the other hand eBay India has given a very minimal discount and is selling the smartphone for Rs 51,199.
Giving more options to the customers, Snapdeal has offered both the options – discount or freebie. Snapdeal is selling the Galaxy S5 for Rs 50,950 but it is also offering the same for Rs 51,500 with some goodies. The freebie includes Aircel 3GB 3G or 2G data code via email and a free 12 months accidental warranty code by Warranty Bazaar worth Rs. 1,599 via email within 10 days of product delivery.
The new addition to Samsung’s S series is company’s first smartphone to feature finger print scanner to unloack the device. Galaxy S5 features 5.1 inch display screen that has the same resolutions of 1080X1920p Super AMOLED display as Galaxy S4. Samsung has pumped up the camera volume with 16 Megapixels camera in S5 that has improved features to take full advantage of the increased megapixels.
The new Galaxy S5 is powered by 2500 GHz quad core processor and has 3 GB RAM to give snappy performance while watching videos and playing games.
Galaxy S5 runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box which is the latest version of Android. On top of the Android sits Samsung’s own TouchWiz UI that has been brushed up for a cleaner look. Galaxy S5 comes with water and dust proof features with IPS 7 rating for safety from spills and dusty encounters.
