Even though tech gurus believe that Samsung is losing space in the entry level smartphone market the Korean giant is adamant to steal the sell. The company has launched three new sub Rs. 10,000 models with Android 4.4 KitKat to counter Motorola’s new sensation Moto E in India.
First two Samsung entries Galaxy Star Advance and Galaxy Ace NXT have Rs. 7,400 price tag while another model Galaxy Star 2 cut close to 5K mark at Rs. 5,100 price point.
Samsung has peddled both Galaxy Star Advance and Galaxy Ace NXT as Moto E killer nearly same features as Motorola’s rugged price for all Moto E.
Although both Samsung model fail to beat or match Moto E features in all departments one that come close is Galaxy Star Advance. It matches the Motorola rival with its 4.3 inch display with 480X800p (compare to 580X980 qHD on same 4.3” screen in Moto E) resolution and 1.2 GHz Qualcomm processor.
Also similar to Moto E is the 4GB internal memory and expandable Micro SD slot for up to 32 GB but unlike 1 GB RAM in Moto E Galaxy Star Advance features only half 512 MB RAM. The device comes with 1800mAh battery which is also slightly lower than Moto E’s 1980mAh battery.
If we move to camera section Moto E offers 5 megapixels rear camera while Samsung Galaxy Star Advance feature 3 MP primary camera. Both smartphone are missing a front camera which is anyway too much to ask for such low price point.
Galaxy Ace NXT is the successor of last year launched Galaxy Ace, in terms of features the smartphone is a clone of Galaxy Star Advance expect the shorten screen size of 4 inches.
The cheapest of all three Galaxy Star 2 features what you can expect from a 5,100 Samsung smartphone. Although, like other two smartphone Star 2 also runs on Android 4.4 its other features clearly reflect that you get what you pay for. Galaxy Star 2 sport 3.5 inch display screen with 320X480 pixels resolution, 1GHz processor, 512 MB RAM and 2 megapixels camera, 4GB internal storage(expandable) and 1300 mAh battery.
All three smartphones have dual sim connectivity and basic connectivity feature like Wi-Fi Bluetooth and Micro USB support. The devices also come with support to up to 12 Indian languages like Hindi, Marathi Bangali, Tamil, Guajarati, Punjabi, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Oriya, Urdu and Assamese.
