If you are in India and own a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 then this Republic Day got you one more reason to celebrate as Samsung has finally released the Android 4.4.2 KitKat updated for both the Galaxy Note 3 models in India.
The Snapdragon-powered Note 3 (SM-N9005) and the Exynos-powered Note 3 (SM-N900) have started receiving the Android 4.4.2 KitKat sweetness from the morning of January 26 with white status bar icons, reduced memory usage, inbuilt wireless printing support, improved keyboard.
The new firmware weighs 361MB and can be updated over-the-air (OTA) or via Samsung Kies.
Here are some changes Android 4.4.2 KitKat brings to the Galaxy Note 3 devices:
- Status bar icons now in KitKat white from Green
- Lockscreen Camera shortcut
- Full screen music album art in the lockscreen
- Performance improvements and bug fixes
- Support more various upgraded Emoji icon
- Selection of default messaging app between Messages and Hangouts now available
- You can select the Home launcher among preloaded TouchWiz easy Home, TouchWiz basic Home and Downloaded 3’rd launcher more easily
- Android OS 4.4.2 KitKat support Wireless Printing service
- Android OS 4.4.2 KittKat support the more upgraded GMS apps like Photos, Drive
Android 4.4 users can also choose between a default messaging app and default launched or other similar apps from play store.
Features like better location finder, and wireless printing support are among other important upgrade that comes along with new Android. First Android 4.4.2 KitKat upgrade was launched in Poland about 3 weeks ago after which Samsung is gradually rolling it in other countries. Apart from India, the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update has also been rolled out for South Korea, and Switzerland.
