After the Microsoft Nokia takeover it was almost clear that Nokia name will soon be a history and now it’s official that the mobile brand will be known as Microsoft Lumia. As per the deal Microsoft only had a limited time to use Nokia name for their Lumia model Windows Phones and as the time close by Microsoft finally made the announcement in public.
In Nokia’s conversation column the Senior Vice President of Marketing for Phones at Microsoft Tuula Rytilä said “This is a very exciting time for us and for Lumia products. You might have seen that in the last couple of months, we have already made some name changes to our apps to better reflect that these apps now come from Microsoft.”
“Our global and local websites are going through a transition as we speak and in the coming days our social channels will get a new name too – they will be called Microsoft Lumia. We would like to invite our Lumia fans to continue to follow us and always be up to speed with the latest device news on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.”Tuula added.
This work continues across our devices, packaging and retail, to name a few. It’s all going as planned and we’re excited that our integration in to Microsoft continues to be on track.”
So is it the end of the road for Nokia Lumia? Microsoft say may be not. Although, the software giant is going bold by rebranding all major Nokia Lumia mobiles to Microsoft Lumia but it will continue to make other mobiles in Nokia name. So Nokia fans cheer up the name might live longer than you thought.
