The CES fest at Las Vegas has been eventful for Japanese electronics giant who has teased a range of products including new Xperia Z1 compact smartphone at the event. As the name suggests the new addition to Xperia family is a compact model of Sony’s latest smartphone model Xperia Z1 which has durable design and improved camera.
The smartphone has the reflective glass design paired with aluminum frame for stability with small 4.3 inch display screen. Sure the phone has killer looks but it’s not the look but the whopping 20.7 Megapixels camera which might drive consumers towards the smartphone.
The camera in Xperia Z1 and the Z1 compact are designed for photography lovers as it features many manual settings and photo editing options. The smartphone has also adopted the 2 megapixels front facing camera from its big brother Xperia Z1.
Behind the reflective glass design sits Sony’s patent display of BRAVIA technology that enhances the color quality to make pictures appear crisp clear.
Similar to Xperia Z1 the compact model too features closing covers for micro SD slot and other vulnerable part to make it water proof and dust proof. We are not sure about Sony’s promise of underwater photography but it should defiantly last through water accidents and splashes.
Android 4.3 works as a brain and sits beneath Sony Xperia Z1 compact’s reflective glass display. The smartphone is powered by monstrous Qualcomm Snapdragon™ 800 Quad-core Processor that is clocked at 2.2 GHz. 2 GB RAM has been whipped up in the smartphone to support the powerful processor in order to display quality graphics.
Xperia Z1 compact comes 2300 mAh battery which promises up to 18 hours of talk time and around 12 hours of video playing. The company has not revealed the price of the smartphone yet but it is already available in US with contract on T-mobile.
