After having gala time in India due to its most popular smartphone – Moto G—Motorola has finally decided to discontinue this amazing device at least from the Indian market.
Giving a clear sign of the arrival of Moto G’s successor in the first week of September, Motorola’s retail partner for Moto G smartphone, Flipkart, has announced the availability of Moto G’s last stock on its website.
Flipkart reduced the price of both the Moto G versions – 8 GB and 16 GB – by Rs 2,000 recently. Just after the price cut all the 8GB versions of Moto G got sold out and the inventory was never replenished after that. However, there are some units of Moto G (16 GB) left with the ecommerce site for just Rs 11,999 but no one knows the exact number.
Motorola is busy sending invitations for its September 4 event where the communication giant is expected to announce the successors of Moto G, Moto X alongside the high-profile Moto 360 smartwatch.
The company is going to hold another press event in on September 5 and the colour combination of the invite for the India launch and the global launch is the same.
Motorola is tight lipped regarding the show stoppers of its global and India shows, but the invite for the global event gives a hint of the upcoming successors of Moto G and Moto X, and the launch of Moto 360. The invite bears images of two smartphones with X and G and a watch with Bluetooth icon.
According to rumours related to the successor of Moto G, the Moto G2 is going to come with a 5-inch 720 pixel display. The smartphone is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz. The RAM is going to be same Moto G with 1GB. The device is said to be running Android 4.4.2 out of the box with an 8 megapixel rear and 2 megapixel front shooters.
