The year 2013 is coming to an end and as the arrival of the new year is just around the corner tech enthusiasts needed a new term to talk about next year.
So here it is! The upgraded quality of smartphone display had been in rumours so far but now the successor of the Full HD display is official with the name Quad HD display. The display goes ahead of Full HD that comes with 1920×1080 pixels with 441 pixels per inch pixel density. However, the Quad HD or QHD display comes with 2560×1440 pixels with 490 ppi pixel density.
With every year, we have been getting a new display; be it Amoled, Super Amoled or Full HD, displays have started being one of the most important part to the smartphones and QHD is going to be the decisive factor for the sales of devices in the year 2014.
Vivo, the Brazilian technology company, has become the first smartphone maker to launch a device with the QHD display. Vivo launched its Xplay 3S with the successor of Full HD display.
Apart from 6 inches of the highest pixel density display, Vivo Xplay 3S sports the powerful Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor clocked at 2.3 GHz. The smartphone is going to come with whopping 3 GB or RAM and Adreno 330 GPU.
Vivo has gone bigger in every way with this phone as it has put a 13 megapixel rear-facing camera coupled with a fingerprint scanner that you find in Apple’s iPhone 5S and HTC’s one smartphones. The front-facing camera comes with a 5 megapixel sensor.
The 6 inch phablet has 32 GB of internal storage and will run custom Android it calls Funtouch OS.
The smartphone is right now launched in Chinese market and there is no word, at least right now, about its possibility of entering international or Indian market.
