The much awaited upgrade for Windows 8 is finally has an official release date and it is October 18. Microsoft’s Senior Marketing Manager Brandon LeBlanc has revealed the news on his blog post today. Windows 8.1 that has been build to fill in the loop holes of Windows 8 which was highlighted by the operating system users around the world. Soon after the feedback Microsoft promised their users to come up with an upgrade that will resolve the issues and as a result came Windows 8.1.
Microsoft’s improved Windows 8.1 is the first upgrade to ambitious Windows 8 which was released last year. The upgrade for Windows will be available as a free download for all Windows 8 users on Oct 17 onwards. The company has also stated that the retail version of Windows 8.1 will be available from Oct 18 for purchase.
While Windows was mostly focused on improving the performance of touch screen Windows 8.1 promised to give you the best of both worlds. It has more keyboard and mouse friendly functions to please desktop users and added tiles for better touch screen functions.
The latest Windows will revive some of the Windows features like start button which was missed in Windows 8. Another exciting addition is the Redesigned Microsoft App store that has over 80,000 apps. It is also believe to be more social media friendly and intuitive. The latest operating system also lets you choose and change colors of your start up screen.
