Apple’s WWDC for the year 2014 will go live in San Francisco’s Moscone Centre in some hours and by that time everyone will have a very clear idea what the Cupertino based tech giant is going to unveil for its fans.
There are reports of a small lineup of hardware that can be shown during the event, but the most important and awaited items are the company’s software like iOS 8 and OS X10.10.
With the release of iOS 7 last year, Apple had done a great job with the looks of the mobile operating system so as far as iOS 8 is concerned, there won’t be much changes in the looks, theme and the colors of the OS. However, features and performance wise the new OS for iPhones, iPads and iPods is going to bring a lot many changes and new options.
There will obviously be improvements in the apps like Maps and iTunes Radio, there two very exciting features that look to be on cards with the arrival of iOS 8.
According to reports iOS developers are testing a feature that allows iPad users to connect their device to a MacBook or iMac to use them as an external display. The feature is going to be something like AirDisplay on the App Store. There is also a possibility that AirDrop facility, which was so far limited to iOS to iOS device and OS X to OS X devices, will be made compatible for both the operating systems and then it can be used between iPhone and Mac.
The second feature has not been confirmed and still looks to be in the labs but if it is not launched at this WWDC, it will surely be pushed to the iOS 8 once it is clear.
The feature is supposed to make iPads multitasking enable. So far, users could open only one application in full-screen and work. But if this feature is tested positive, iPad users will be able to use up to two applications simultaneously.
