Xiaomi has made its name really big in the international market after the huge success of its RedMi1S smartphone. And now the Chinese smartphone maker is expected to come out with its most affordable smartphone device, that is reportedly going to be a 4G LTE handset.
According to a report from GizChina, the device is going to be priced at about Rs 4,000, which is going to be way cheaper than the RedMi1S.
As the website reports, the new smartphone from Xiaomi is going to be powered by Leadcore LC1860 SoC which is built around a 28nm Cortex A7 architecture clocked at 2GHz. To support the graphics of the smartphone there will be ARM Mali T628MP2 GPU and dual-channel 1GB RAM.
The Leadcore chipset is equipped with an integrated modem to support GSM, EDGE, WCDMA, TD-SCDMA. LTE-FDD and TD-LTE networks. There are reports of Xiaomi planning to invest in a company making 4G chipsets.
When it comes to making the handset cheap with a power-packed performance in mind, Xiaomi’s joint venture with Leadcore Technology, the maker of the LC1860 SoC, may have helped the Chinese tech giant achieving its goal.
The smartphone will come with an HD display, and will most likely run Android 4.4.4 KitKat with Xiaomi’s own MiUI user interface out of the box.
The Xiaomi Redmi 1S comes with a 4.7 inch 1280×720 pixel HD IPS display. The device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor clocked at 1.6 GHz. There is 1 GB RAM supporting the functioning of the smartphone and you will get 8 GB of internal memory with a microSD slot supporting a card up to 64 GB. Redmi 1S sports an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash and a 1.6 megapixel font-facing camera.
The Xiaomi Redmi 1S runs Android 4.3 KitKat out of the box with Xiaomi’s MiUI software and is available for Rs 5,999 only.
