After the smashing success of its mid range smartphone Xiaomi Mi3 the Chinese mobile major is trying to repeat the history with its high feature low price Xiaomi Redmi 1S. The Smartphone is probably the only Android smartphone that beat Motorola’s popular budget entry in almost every feature. Xiaomi is launching the Smartphone at the competitive price of Rs 5,999 which is 1,000 lesser than Moto E.
Redmi 1S will enter the Indian market through online market on Sep 2 but the e-commerce major Flipkart has started booking pre-orders for the phone from August 26.
Display:
Xiaomi Redmi boasts 4.7 inch screen with 1280X720 display compare to 4.3 inch screen with 540X960 qHD display on Moto E. Both Smartphone sport IPS display but Redmi 1S offers 312 ppi display that is much clear than 256 ppi on Moto E.
Camera:
Before the arrival of Redmi 1S, Moto E’s 5 megapixels camera seemed like a complement for the price of 6,999 and no one questioned the absence of front camera. Now Redmi 1S shames Moto E with its 8 megapixels rear and 1.3 megapixels front camera accompanied by LED flash feature. No prize to guess who wins this round.
Hardware:
Xiaomi’s Moto E killer sports powerful 1.6GHz Snapdragon 400 processor compare to 1.2 GHz processor in Motorola’s low budget model. Redmi 1S offers double 8GB storage compared to 4 GB in Moto E while both models offer 1 GB RAM and have micro SD slot for extended memory for up to 32 GB.
Software:
Moto E runs on the latest Android 4.4 and you can always rely on Motorola to bring you quick Android updates. On the other hand Xiaomi Redmi 1S runs on highly tweaked version of Android 4.3 jelly bean topped with house build MiUi 5 which gives a whole new dimension to Android.
Battery:
Power segment is a close fight between the two as Moto E packs 1980 mAh battery that promises mix usage of up to 24 hours. While Redmi 1S boast 2000 mAh that promises long hours of video playing thanks to Xiaomi’s power saver UI.
Verdict:
Remember how the domestic and huge brand’s low budget market got a big blow by the arrival of Moto E now Xiaomi Redmi 1s might give the Moto budget beast a taste of its own medicine. High feature Redmi 1S at the mere price of 5,999 is a tough nut to crack and not only Moto E but dozens other entry level Smartphones will struggle in the market if Xiaomi Redmi stay for long.
