After enjoying record sales of Redmi 1S in the country the world’s third largest smartphone maker is launching its big screen phablet Xiaomi Redmi Note in India on Monday. The feature rich smartphone is expected to be priced at Rs 9,999 but we won’t be surprised if the Chinese major cut down the price to a lower number as it did with Redmi 1S few months ago.
The first hint about the launch came in when Xiaomi India announced a contest on Facebook this Thursday to win new Redmi Note. Later media invites were sent out and it became official that Xiaomi’s Global VP Hugo Barra will be launching Redmi Note on 24 November.
The much awaited budget friendly premium smartphone is expected to hit the Indian market on Dec 2 and will be exclusively available on ecommerce major Flipkart. We just hope that Flipkart sketch a better plan before it starts flash sale of Xiaomi Redmi Note to avoid the glitches it had to face during the sale of Redmi 1S.
Like last time Flipkart most probably will require interested consumers to registered before hand to have any chance of getting their hands of limited quantity Redmi Note devices.
The high specs and low budget Xiaomi Redmi Note sposrts whopping 5.5 inch IPS LCD display screen that has resolution of 720X1080p. The device is powered by 1.7 GHz octa core processor supported by 2 GB RAM. The Xiaomi phablet comes with 8 GB internal memory and sport a micro SD slot to expand the memory for up to 32 GB. The device also packs whopping 3100 mAh battery to support the massive device.
Xiaomi Redmi Note is not short on camera too as its 13 megapixels rear and 5 megapixels front camera matches most high end phablet models. The device runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean along with a layer of Xiaomi’s homegrown user interface MIUI 5 on top that helps to save battery and boost performance. In the connectivity segment Redmi Note packs standard features like Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, 3G connectivity and GPS.
