Micromax is all set put its most talked about smartphone, the Micromax Yu Yureka, in a couple of days through a flash sale. However, the company is going to leave many people disappointed as it is putting only 10,000 units of Yu Yureka.
According to new reports related to Yu Yureka, the online registration for January 13 flash sale attracted a huge number of Yu Yureka fans and the company closed down the registrations after reaching the mark of three lakh.
“We saw unprecedented response with over three lakh registrations. Registrations were to be open till 25th December. However, owing to the mega response they had to be closed a day earlier,” Micromax co-founder Rahul Sharma was quoted by PTI.
The Yu Yureka is going to be in direct competition with Xiaomi’s Redmi Note and OnePlus One in the budget oriented Indian smartphone market.
The market had always been dominated by Android OS-based devices but the arrival of Yu Yureka and OnePlus One is going to change the game or tweak this game up to some extent to be precise.
The Yu Yureka is going to be an Android device but the OS is going to come from CyanogenMod which is an open source firmware distribution community.
CyanogenMod distributes firmware based on Android and offers features that vendors of Android devices don’t deliver with their versions of the operating system.
Micromax has got into an exclusive tie-up with CyanogenMod for the operating system of Yu Yureka for Indian market. The Yu Yureka is going to run CyanogenMod 10 OS which is based on Android 4.4.4 KitKat. However, the users of Yu Yureka will get a vast opportunity of customizing their devices thanks to CyanogenMod.
The Micromax Yu Yureka is going to be available for Rs 8,999 and the specifications of the smartphone are looking quite impressive.
With a 5.5 inch screen of 1280×720 pixel resolution, Yureka looks colourful enough for Indian users. The screen is protected with Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 to protect it against dust and scratches.
The device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 chipset clocked at 1.5 GHz. The Snapdragon 615 processor is designed for higher speed and low battery use. The biggest advantage of the processor is that users will be able to play 64-bit games and applications on their devices. Micromax has backed the powerful processor with 2GB of RAM for smooth functioning.
When it comes to shooters, the primary camera of Micromax Yu Yureka is of 13 megapixel with burst mode, an HDR mode, a night mode, etc. It has got a 5 megapixel snapper at the front with a wide angle lens.
The inbuilt storage is limited to 16 GB but a microSD card can help you extend the memory of your smartphone up to 32 GB.
The device is juiced up by 2500 mAh battery. Though the battery doesn’t look much impressive with its capacity but if we consider the processor and CyanogenMod’s battery usage record, users will not have to charge their devices more than once a day for mixed usage.
