
Apple has been known for removing older devices from the support list of iOS whenever the Cupertino tech giant brings out the latest version of its mobile operating system. And as the iOS 11 had left out iPhone 5, rumour mills were busy suggesting iPhone 5S’ exclusion from the upcoming iOS 12.
However, there is some good news for the owners of iPhone 5S.
The hint of iOS 12, which is going to be release in the upcoming WWDC, running successfully on the five-year old iPhone5S comes from a WebKit test. The script of the test was shared on Reddit confirming that Apple has already tested iOS 12 on the iPhone 5S.
Though this information doesn’t amount to an official confirmation of iOS 12 landing on to iPhone 5S handset once the mobile operating system is released, it would be a new record if the predecessor of iPhone 6 gets the update. iPhone 5S will become Apple’s first mobile device to get six major iOS update.
This piece of news is going to delight many Indians as iPhone 5S is the top premium smartphone in India. And we are sure many of these Indian iPhone 5S users would like to hold on to their iDevice for at least one more year with the new features of iOS 12.
The next update to the operating system for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch is expected to come with a number of security fixes and new features.
According to GSM Arena, Apple is expected to bring the ‘Dark Mode’ with iOS 12. The feature which was supposed to be launched with iOS 11 will, reportedly, enhance the the battery performance.
The other expected features are, settings within apps, upgraded parental control, always on display, home-screen widgets and new updates to Siri.
