Today we know Indian-American Satya Nadella as the new CEO of world’s largest IT company, but who was Satya before he became the famous name that he is today?
A Simple Boy from Hyderabad
The 46 years old Satya Nadella was born in the city of Hyderabad to an IAS officer in 1967. He completed his high school from the hometown and went to study Engineering in Electronics and Communication from the Manipal Institute of Technology.
Cricket and Poetry Lover at Heart:

After finishing his engineering degree Nadella ventured into computer science by getting an MS from University of Wisconsin in United States.
Career and the Microsoft Connection:
He got the offer to join Microsoft when he was about to get a degree in business he took the job and continued his degree at the same time. Every week he would work in weekdays and then fly to Chicago and study for his Degree on weekends.
The juggling between work and study continued for 2 .5 years until he got his MBA Degree from University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Big Roles at Microsoft:
Nadella has handled many big responsibilities in Microsoft before taking charge as CEO. The software giant’s cloud service business excelled when Nadella became the in charge of the project. He has also served as a VP of Microsoft’s Business Solutions and Search Advertising Group for years.
