The much rumored Big Screen iPhone 6 could be a real thing much earlier than we had expected. Recent reports about Apple’s CEO Tim Cook’s letter to the employee suggest that the company is preparing for an early launch of new iPhones. It is rumored that Apple is working on 2 big screen iPhones; one with 4.7 inch display and another model with whopping 6 inch display screen.
And now a Chinese portal Digitimes has leaked that Apple is planning to launch its new iPhone in May next year. The same website had leaked the pictures of iPhone 5s before its launch which turned out correct.
Earlier this year Tim Cook had indicated in an interview that Apple will be exploring a new frontier with things the company has never done before. This could be a hint that the company is to enter the large screen gadget market where Samsung dominate the game currently.
The leaks also reveal that the upcoming iPhone will have a 20 nm chipset which is made in Taiwan by TSMC. The big screen frenzy is not just going to be restricted to the smartphones as reports suggest that we may see iPads with close to 13 inch display in the year 2014.
Apart from big screen smartphone and tablets Apple is also supposedly working on a smartphone with wrap around display. Some sources join both links and say that like this year apple may come with two iPhones and one of than could be a wrap around model.
Apple has long followed the philosophy of Steve Jobs which talk about compatible gadgets that could be handled with one hand. But that might be changing now as Apple needs to step up its game to compete with Samsung that has created a huge market for big screen gadgets.
The company has been known for keeping its ideology simple and effective for so long and now after ‘big’ changes ahead we may see a different Apple.
