
The wait for Indian Apple fans is over as the Cupertino-based tech company releases its two new iPads in India today.
The new iPad Air will be available at Apple stores at the price of Rs 35,900 where as the new iPad Mini is starting from Rs 28, 900.
The iPad Air is an updated, thinner and lighter version of the fourth generation iPad and comes with a 9.7 inch Retina Display and a 64-bit A7 processor. The iPad Air is 28 per cent lighter than its predecessor and weighs 453 grams.
The fifth generation iPad will be available in two versions Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi+3G. The storage capacity has been kept according to Apple’s trend at 16 GB, 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB.
The iPad Air will be in direct competition with Google’s newly released Nexus 7 tablet that is available in Indian market for Rs 20,999.

The iPad Mini with Retina Display is the successor of iPad Mini but comes with a Retina Display (2048 x 1536 pixels) and a powerful 64-bit A7 processor.

Both the iPads are going to sport a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera and a 1.2 megapixel front-facing Face Time camera.
Meanwhile, according to a Times of India report, the prices of older iPads have gone up after the announcement of two new iPads’ release.
The two-year-old iPad 2’s Wi-Fi variant is now available for Rs 28,900, up Rs 4,400 from its price tag before the prices of new iPads were revealed. Its Wi-Fi + 3G model is now available at Rs 37,900, compared to its previous price tag of Rs 32,900, an increase of Rs 5,000.
iPad mini’s Wi-Fi and cellular model now costs Rs 30,900, up Rs 1,000 in comparison to its earlier price. Apple has, however, not revised the price of its Wi-Fi-only version; it still costs Rs 21,900 and remains the cheapest iPad model in Apple’s portfolio.
