
Flappy Bird creator Dong Nguyen says in an interview with CNBC that the game will return to App Store in August. Nguyen also reveals that the new version will have multiplayer set up and have “less addictive title tag.
Nguyen who is a young developer from Vietnam made headlines when he took out the game from both App store and Google Play Store in February this year.
Flappy Bird shootout to success soon after its launch thanks to its simple yet addictive style and was making around $50,000 a day via advertisement. But it was also surrounded with controversies as many developers claimed that Nguyen copied their ideas.
However, Nguyen denied any such claim he suddenly announced on Twitter in February that the Success of Flappy Bird has ruined his life and he will remove the game. Many Flappy Bird merchandise and smartphone that had the game installed went up on sell for sky rocketing prices as it was unclear if the game will ever make a comeback.
Dozens of Flappy Bird look-alike game flooded the App store to cash on the Flappy bird phenomenon but none of them survived more than few weeks.
In March while replying to a fan on Tweeter indicated that he may think about re launching Flappy Bird but it may not be the exact same game. He also stated that he is working on some other games which will hit the online stores soon.
Its noticeable that Flappy bird wasn’t the only game that was earning wholesome money for Dong Nguyen his other games like Shuriken Block and Superball Juggling. Nguyen is also gearing up to launch some more new games along with newer version of Flappy Bird.
