The open SSL vulnerability named as Heart Bleed Bug rocked the World Wide Web as millions of passwords got exposed due to the deadly bug. Many popular social networking websites like Facebook, Yahoo and Google patched this severe bug and urged users to change their passwords after the fix was released.
Heart Bleed bug that got exposed in early April went to be one of the biggest cyber threat in the history of internet. But the magnitude of damage by Heart Bleed could have been avoided by practicing one simple measure, setting a unique password.
Most heart bleed affected websites advised its users to change passwords without experiencing a single case of exposed information because many people use same password for various sites. This makes hackers job easy as all they need to do is steal your password from most vulnerable sites and they have access to all of your accounts.
There is a reason why most online networks request you to have a strong and only one of its kind password. Most of you may already know this thumb rule of online networking but still like to have just one password to remember instead of dozens.
Ofcourse remembering dozens passwords could be brain storming but if you act smartly it is not as tricky as it sounds. Try changing one word or symbol in each of your passwords while keeping the rest same and you have got unique passwords without headache.
Your password should be at least 6 letters long and should have some symbols and number that makes it more secure. We don’t share the keys of your home with strangers so why have password that could get hacked easily.
