Sony’s high end smartphone like Xperia Z might capture all the limelight but the company’s lower end smartphones have also started building a fan club lately. Although, the company has been an average performer on producing groundbreaking models its smartphones have been popular around the world. Sony’s distinctive design and features appeal to a range of audience who are looking for a different Smartphone experience.
The newest addition in the Sony’s smartphone family is its lower end smartphone Xperia E dual which is an upgraded version of Xperia E. The two phones are almost identical except the upgraded software and dual-sim feature that the later has to offer. The lower price tag of this phone makes it an attractive choice. But before you make up your mind let’s take an inside look at this newbie from Sony.
Built and design:
The biggest selling point of the smartphone is its stylish design and glossy finishes. The phone may cost much less than the high end smartphone but its chic design reflects the opposite. The 3.5 inches phone fits perfectly into one hand but since its carries the DNA of Xperia you can’t avoid feeling its bulkiness while holding.
Display:
The biggest disappoint of the phone is it poor resolution display which leaves wanting from more from the makers of Sony. Off course the phone has a small price tag but if you are looking to buy an economic phone with good display the phone may disappoint you. If you can surpass the poor pixilation display of 165 ppi and mere resolution of 480X320 then Xperia E dual .
Software:
Unlike its higher end model the Sony Xperia E dual runes on Android 4.0.4 ice cream sandwich which is not as yummy in performance as jelly bean. Except from some solid apps from Google’s play store Sony has few of its own apps installed in the phone. But overall the phone does decent job in the software section.
Camera:
A decent camera is one thing you always expect from the makers of Sony but sadly Xperia E dual’s 3.2 megapixel camera has nothing to brag about. The phone captures slightly pixilated pictures and videos even in bright light. Again, you cannot expect a high class camera at an affordable price that the phone offers but if you love taking picture and videos you might want to look elsewhere.
Battery Life:
With the battery capacity of 1500 mAh the phone promises 6 hour of continuous usage which is not bad in its class. However, if you are going to use double-sim you might have to carry the charger with you as dual usage can drain the battery faster.
Verdict:
Sony Xperia E dual may not have high end details like Sony’s big budget smartphone but comprehensively it is one of best dual sim phone available at the price of around $200. Sony Xperia E Dual has a starting price of $199.99. The phone is a great choice for people who want a duel-sim phone primarily for normal usage. But if you carry just one sim then you have got much better options in the market.
