It has been a tough year for Samsung in court with Apple as the company keeps losing one lawsuit after another with US based arch rival Apple. This time around the South Korean electronic major got hammered in its home court as a Seoul based court rejected Samsung’s application to ban Apple’s product for patent violation.
The Central District Court was responding to Samsung’s complain to block 3 iPhone and iPad models for copying Samsung’s patent technology. But the action back fired Samsung as the home court ruled out the possibility of Apple Inc copying any patent registered by the South Korean major.
The jury clearly said two of the accused Apple model don’t exactly copy Samsung’s patent and any company has a right to develop parallel technology without infringing patent. The court did not find any relative patent violation in the third accused model of old iPad .
Apple welcomed the decision by Seoul court in statement “We are glad the Korean court joined others around the world in standing up for real innovation and rejecting Samsung’s ridiculous claims” said Apple’s representative.

On the other hand Samsung is not ready to back down “We are disappointed by the court’s decision, As Apple has continued to infringe our patented mobile technologies, we will continue to take the measures necessary to protect our intellectual property rights.” It said in a statement.
This is a 3rd straight legal defeat for Samsung who has already lost two patent battle in US and ended up paying more than 1 billion dollars to rival Apple.
This time Samsung had asked the court for the compensation of $100 million or $95,000 and ban on old iPhones and iPads that comes under the scanner for alleged patent infringement. Sadly, the Seoul Central Court dismissed the complaint by giving clean cheat to US based electronic major Apple Inc.
