In the world of Smartphones where big names like Apple and Samsung are always in the lime light it is very easy to ignore an entry from an unknown company. Yet Oppo Find 5 has been able to gather attention of mobile critics. The sophomore from electronics company Oppo is everything you do not expect from a smartphone from China. Despite the company’s low profile Oppo Find 5’s solid body, glossy finish, smart design and noticeable features make it a phone worth talking about.
Design and build:
The biggest selling point of the phone is its sleek and stylish body which is surprisingly well-built for a lower budget smart phone. From the look of the phone you may never guess that it has an irremovable battery which is a nice surprise. The phone looks a bit like Sony’s Xperia models but it has its own unique design. While the 5.0 inch display screen is welcoming we find the sharp corner design old fashioned and unintuitive.
Storage and Software:
Like other common smart phones of this category the Oppo Find-5 sports a 2 GB RAM and 16 GB storage space. You can also find other model that offers 32 GB storage space. Oppo has been able synchronized a lot of good software in ‘Find-5’ and its smooth functions totally reflect its strong software base.
Display:
The massive 1080p display produces crisp and sharp images. The high resolution display takes full advantage of whopping 5 inch screen as every text and image looks sharp on the screen. For Oppo’s beginner smartphone Find 5 offers a brilliant display and the videos runs smoothly on screen. The quick sharp display of find 5 is surely going to make game buffs happy.
Battery Life:
Seeing its impressive design and loaded software Oppo- 5 would need a strong battery but perhaps the makers of Oppo forgot to their homework. Considering its non removable battery design we had expected Oppo 5 to give a better battery performance. If you are browsing, texting or twitting this phones battery starts to drain pretty fast.
Processor/OS:
The phone is powered by a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 quad core processor. Androids latest operating system jelly bean 4.1.1 provides smooth functioning to the phone.
Camera:
It has a 13 megapixel rear facing camera which is slowly becoming common in the 5 inches and plus smarthphones section. The camera does a pretty good job capturing high quality photos in bright light. It has basic smartphone camera features like auto focus, white balance setting, exposure control and HD recording. However, Oppo Find 5’s smart camera suffers from poor software support and its captured images often look over or under saturated.
Verdict:
Oppo find 5 sure packs a lot of surprise aliments in its sophomore smartphone but we can’t overlook the glitches of poor research that makes the identity of the phone suffer. In the world of smartphones where you have so many better choices within budget Oppo Find-5 will face a fierce competition from established mobile giants. Despite its disappointing design flaws the company has change the way people look at the smartphones from China. Hopefully Oppo will learn from its mistakes and surprise us with something even better next time.
