First gold color smartphone and now glasses, it looks like Samsung is not ashamed of taking cue from rivals Apple and Google to make money minting gadgets. The buzz about Samsung building its own Google glass like gear have been churning the rumor mill for quite a while but the recent development have revealed that it is all real.
A patent sketch submitted by Samsung Electronics Company to a Korean Intellectual property office shows that the company is designing a Google Glass like head computer. The report says that the gear which looks like glasses can play music and receive information from a smartphone. Since it could be wearable on the head like spectacles or sunglasses it will give you hands free control.
The concept of head computer had been around for few years but it caught the public eye when Google announced the trial version of Google Glass in June 2013. The idea instantly became the talk of the town and Google sold 10,000 models of its pricey trial Google Glass in zippy.
The tryout model of Google glass sports prism display, touch control and primary camera that can click photos and record videos through voice control. Google is expected to roll the consumer version of Glass in the first quarter next year. On the other hand Samsung has not yet revealed its plan on their version of Google Glass..
With smartphones sales slowing down gradually electronic companies are now exploring the wearable market that has got much more potential. After seeing the overwhelming response for Google Glass in June this year, Samsung launched its smartwatch Galaxy Gear in September which became a success. Apple which has started working on its smartwatch concept before Samsung is expected to launch it early next year.
Almost every electronic major is gearing up to have their gadgets ready for the emerging wearable electronics market. Another electronic giant Sony has already launched its 2nd generation smartwatch recently while LG is rumored to be working on their own smartwatch project. The software giant Microsoft is not falling behind either rumors are that the computer major is also preparing its version of Google Glass.
