Samsung created ripples in Indian market with the release of Samsung Galaxy Grand by making large screen smartphone affordable. Continuing the legacy, the Korean tech giant has released the new Galaxy Grand 2.
The new flagship smartphone is larger than its predecessor in terms of screen size and more powerful at its heart.
The Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 sports a 5.25 inch screen with 1280×720 pixel high definition TFT display. Samsung did win a huge number of new customers with the launch of Galaxy Grand but after some months the craze, especially in Indian subcontinent, came down as the smartphone couldn’t deliver faster performance due to lesser amount of RAM.
The company seems to have taken the issues seriously and updated the hardware components in the new iteration. The Grand 2 is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz unlike the Grand that comes with a dual core processor.
The company has increased the RAM by 512 MB so the Grand 2 will be coming with 1.5 GB of RAM to speed up the operations of the smartphone and make the multi-tasking faster.
When it comes to multimedia options like camera, the Grand 2 is no different from Galaxy Grand as it comes with an 8 MP rear-facing and a 1.9 MP front-facing camera. The internal storage is also untouched from its predecessor as the Grand 2 comes with same 8 GB inbuilt and a microSD card slot that can be used with a card up to 64 GB.
The smartpnone runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of box with Samsung UI overlay and other features like Samsung Hub, Story Album, Group Play, S Translator, S Travel, Sound & Shot, Best Shot and more.
The handsets will be available in White, Black and Pink colours but there is no information about the market and pricing has not been revealed by the company.
